Singings will also be held at Taylor United Methodist Church in Lafayette County on the Saturday before the second Sunday in October, at the Calhoun County Nursing Home at 1:30 on the Saturday afternoon before the first Sunday in December, and third Sunday afternoons in November, January, February and March at 1:00 at Bethel Church in Bruce. Gwin was the first president of the Mississippi State Sacred Harp Singing Convention when it was organized in 1929, as well as president of the New Harmony Singing Convention of Webster County for fifty-two year. The trophy has been preserved by Mr. Gwin's great granddaughter, Lee Uhlhorn, who intends to donate the trophy to the Sacred Harp Museum in Carrollton, Georgia.
