Library Catalog Buttons

This guide to the buttons used in the library catalog will help you to navigate it more effectively.

Library Header | Result Page | Record Page | Saved Records | My Library

Library Header

		Brings you to the main library page.
		Brings you to the Ask-A-Librarian service.
		Brings you to the My Library service.

Result Page

		Returns you to the UM Library Catalog main page.
		Changes the display by adding details to the result list.
		Changes the display by removing details from the result list.
		Returns you to the previously viewed result list.
		Changes a title or subject search into a keyword search.
		Perform another search of the same type (keyword, title, author, etc.)
		Limit searches by adding selected criteria and/or sort the results by year of publication.
		Modify a keyword seach by adding selected criteria in the advanced keyword search screen.
		In a keyword search, the similar records button retrieves records with matching subject headings.
		Brings you to the export (saved records) screen.
		Clears the list of saved (or marked) records.

Record Page

		Returns you to the UM Library Catalog main page.
		Brings you to the export (saved records) screen.
		Clears the list of saved (or marked) records.
		Displays the current record in MARC format (which is used by librarians for cataloging purposes).
		When showing the MARC format or list of additional copies, returns you to the public record.
		Return to the list of search results.
		Perform another search of the same type (keyword, title, author, etc.)

Saved Records

		Returns you to the UM Library Catalog main page.
		Changes the display by adding details to the result list.
		Changes the display by removing details from the result list.
		Returns to the previous screen.
		Clears the list of saved (or marked) records.

My Library

		Logout of the My Library service.
		When searching the catalog while logged into My Library, this will return you to your My Library page.
