Who is this woman, anyway?

I'm originally from Western Michigan. I studied Math and Physics at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and stayed in Ann Arbor until moving to Atlanta in 1997. I also studied education, and received Michigan high school teaching certification.

I spent five years (1992-1997) as a consultant with Andersen Consulting (now accenture), where I focused mostly on large systems design and development. I highly recommend the firm, and would love to talk with any of you students who might be considering employment there. I've worked with tools ranging from JCL and COBOL to Oracle Forms, C++ and Visual Basic. My favorite area is probably the efficient design and use of relational databases. Oh, what that SQL can do.

I moved to Atlanta to study Mathematics at Georgia Tech. I completed my M.S. in August, 1999, with a minor in Industrial Systems Engineering. I completed my Ph.D. August 1, 2003. In August, 2003 I jointed the faculty at the University of Mississippi as an Assistant Professor.
