Annual singings scheduled for the Fifth Sunday or the Saturday before may occur in different months, depending on when fifth Sundays occur. While most Fifth Weekend singings are scheduled for, say, "the second fifth Sunday of the year," others may be determined by a special formula. The following is a schedule of fifth weekend singings for 1996, with scheduling information where available. This information is based on Directory and Minutes of Sacred Harp Singings 1995 and 1996, compiled by Shelbie Sheppard, Jeff Sheppard, and David Ivey.
March 31 Liberty Church--2 miles north of Henagar AL on Liberty Road, From Henagar Crossing, take Hwy. 40 west to the Farmers Telephone Cooperative. Turn right and go to dead end. Turn right, take first left past Henagar Methodist Church (Liberty Rd.). Church is on right, approximately 1.5 miles. (First fifth Sunday after first of year.
March 31 Parker, Hollis, Putman Memorial--Liberty (McCormick), 2 1/2 miles southwest of Sumiton AL north of New Hwy 78 or south of Old Hwy 78. (First fifth Sunday each year.)
June 30 Mount Pisgah, 10 miles southwest of Sylvester GA. (Second Fifth Sunday of each year.)
September 28 and 29 Union Musical Sacred Harp Convention--Simpsonwood Methodist Conference and Retreat Center, 4511 Jones Bridge Circle NW, Norcross GA. (First fifth Sunday, and Saturday before, after July 4.)

September 29 Taylor United Methodist Church--Taylor, Lafayette County, MS. (First Fifth Sunday after the month of July, i.e. August, September, or October.)
December 28 New Hope Primitive Baptist Church--Martin Blackmon Memorial, one mile east of Villa Rica GA, just off Hwy. 78. (Last fifth Sunday in the year.)
