THE SHOULDER

The shoulder of the Shar-Pei should be broad and well laid back. The neck should come out of the shoulder high, rather than low as in some breeds. This will contribute to an overall square look to the profile of the dog. In movement the shoulder should move freely so that the dog can have a moderate extension in his gaits.
