THE HEAD
The head should be noble and scowling, with wrinkles on the forehead. The expression on a Shar-Pei face is not easy to read if you are new to the breed. On an older dog the look may be very reserved to strangers, but to the owner the eyes will speak volumes. After proper introductions, a Shar-Pei should be willing to meet new friends. Take care not to reach toward the head from above, a Shar-Pei may not see the movement above his head due to the wrinkles over his eyes. Offer your hand to your new friend at chest level.
