LEI CAO
Dr. Lei Cao received his B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from
Hefei University of Technology in China in 1990; the M.S. degree in
Computer Science from University of Science and Technology of China in
1993; and the Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University
of Missouri-Columbia in 2002.
From 1993 to 1998, he was a lecturer in the Department of Electronic
Engineering at University of Science and Technology of China. He was a
research assistant during his Ph. D. program and a teaching assistant
in
2000 at University of Missouri-Columbia. He was with Symbol
Technologies Inc. in 2000 and with Mitsubishi Electric
Research Laboratories in 2001. He has joined Department of Electrical
Engineering at the University of Mississippi since 2002 and now he is
an associate professor of Electrical Engineering.
His research interests can be summarized into two categories. One is
signal processing and wireless communications, and the other is
multimedia technologies including image processing, image/video coding,
graphics and fractals etc. He is a senior member of IEEE and a member
of Sigma Xi.
