Henry Smith Randle - (Born 1843, Henry Co., parents Richard and Lydia
Canon Randle - died Jan. 17, 1930) Enlisted Co. A, 46th Tn Vol (Inf) on
Nov. 29, 1861 at Paris, TN. Escaped from Island No. 10 when regiment was
captured. Enlisted in Sept. 1863 with Greer's Cav. which was later
consolidated with Russell's Regiment. Served at Okolona, Fort Pillow, and Paducah. In April, 1864 he transferred
back into the 46th Infantry. Eventually transferred to hospital at
Augusta, Ga (Ocmulgee Hosp.) and furloughed home to recuperate. Unable
to rejoin outfit and finished out war at home. Received pension.
Married 1877, Zilphia Stallings, in Henry Co. TN. Widow's pension file
#9854.
