Dear Mr. Arinder,
I understand the PEER Committee will be meeting next week to discuss
topics of upcoming investigations and legislative oversight. Enclose with
this letter are petitions signed by approximately 500 participants in the
State and School Employees Health Insurance Plan would are seriously concerned
about the manner in which recent changes to the plan have been made. The
petitions are addressed to candidates because at the time we began discussing
what could be done about the problem, we did not yet know about PEER and
its legislative oversight functions. Although most of the people who signed
the petitions I have are from the Oxford area, we have spoken with participants
in other areas of the state who are as concerned about this situation as
we are.
I've also enclosed an exchange of email messages which discuss our specific
concerns in more detail. If there is any other information we can provide
to help PEER in considering our request for review, please let one of the
following people know.
